Thank you for visiting Walter’s Wood Shop.

My journey in woodworking started many years ago as I would watch my father build amazing pieces of furniture for his friends and family. I can still picture in my mind walking down the basement steps as the smell of fresh stain and sawdust filled my nose. I was always so excited to see what he was working on. 

When he had the patience he began to teach me the basics of woodworking. I learned so much from him. He gave me the skills to create some beautiful projects but what I think I loved the most was just spending time with my dad.
After my father passed away, he left me with all his tools, many of which I still use today. These days I enjoy teaching my grandkids about woodworking much like my father taught me.
My eldest grandson suggested I create a website to get my knowledge of woodworking out the world. So with a bit of sweat and a bunch of time I finally got it done. (I think building my first chair was easier to build than this site.)
